There is a music therapy position open at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, NC. The J. Iverson Riddle Center in Morganton, North Carolina is an ICF certified facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. We provide comprehensive residential care to citizens from 34 counties in the western portion of the state.
This position will provide direct, music therapy treatment to residents across the JIRDC campus; evaluate the needs of those referred for music therapy, establish treatment goals and interventions to assist with skill building, self expression, improving social interaction and community living skills, enhance sensory/motor development, provide motivating ways to encourage movement, self-awareness, and positive body image. This position may supervise music therapy students and/or interns from colleges/universities. This position serves as a member on multi-disciplinary teams to assist with identifying goals as well as recommending treatment focuses.
